The asset finance specialist Arkle Finance has recently appointed Daniel Bailey as managing director as it seeks to consolidate a period of rapid growth. His appointment came as the funder closes in on a record for new business advances, having lent more than £50 million in 2017 alone.
SMEs and high-growth businesses form the backbone of Arkle’s client base, and in 2017 they accounted for 90pct of the funding it provided.
Daniel Bailey worked his way up through the ranks at Arkle, having previously served as a director and as an associate director during a 12-year career at the company. He succeeds Stephen Bassett in the top job, and has announced plans for Arkle to consolidate its success in the business and consumer sector by building on its strong pedigree in several specialist areas.
One of Mr Bailey’s first actions as MD was to appoint Brian Jerome as an Associate Director with key responsibility for sales. Mr Jerome has more than 30 years of experience in the asset finance sector, having built up a wealth of expertise during stints at D&D Leasing, GE and Barclays.
Daniel Bailey said, “Arkle [in 2017] enjoyed a year of record growth in which our reputation for strong, client-centric service has proved decisive. Brian has an unmatched pedigree in the asset finance sector and an enviable contacts book, and he will play a crucial role in the next stage of our growth story.
“Our goal now is to consolidate our success in lending to businesses and consumers, by leveraging our market-leading expertise in marine, aviation and education sector finance too.”
