Societe Generale Equipment Finance (“SGEF”) has appointed seven top industry veterans to new positions in its organisation, without spending a penny on headhunters or recruitment company fees!
This is how it was done: Jochen Jehmlich was appointed deputy CEO and leads the Central European division. Jehmlich continues as a member of the SGEF management committee as well as CEO of GEFA Gesellschaft für Absatzfinanzierung mbH and GEFA-Leasing GmbH, Germany.
Carsten Thorne has been appointed to manage Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Thorne was previously CEO of SG Finans AS and a member of the SGEF management committee.
The UK’s own Giles Turner will be responsible for Western Europe which includes the UK, Spain, Italy (Vendor only, as Carlo Mescieri will head Italy’s non-vendor activities), France and Benelux (congratulations Giles!). Previously he was managing director of SGEF UK, while Mescieri has been the CEO of SGEF Italy and SG Factorings since 2001.
Danny Lam will be in charge of the Americas overseeing the US, Brazil, and business developments in Mexico. Lam will also become a member of the SGEF Management Committee. Lam has been CEO of SGEF US since September 2015.
A new sales department was also created with John Rees appointed chief commercial officer. In this new role, Rees will liaise with sales teams in the different SGEF countries with the objective of supporting them locally. Rees previously served as SGEF’s head of Industry and Vendor Management.
Bas Hoekstra will become head of International Vendor Management. Hoekstra was previously vendor relationship director at Societe Generale Equipment Finance.
Pascale Devergies-Gilodi was appointed head of SGEF’s new strategic and transverse initiatives department that will encompass strategic guidelines, transversal initiatives as well as Sogelease governance and the supervision of China. He was previously deputy head of the international network of Societe Generale Equipment Finance.
